The 128 voice upgrade involves installing a chip in a socket and I'm not sure how easy it is to remove again onve it's in there, so you may be better off trying to get a sampler that's alreadt been upgraded.

Funny how things go, but I have just acquired an E-Synth Ultra with the 128 voice expansion and the AES-EBU/midi/keyboard board installed, so my E6400Ultra with both of these expansions fitted is no longer needed, and is up for grabs if anyone is interested.
It doesn't have a hard drive fitted atm, nor does it have the rack ears (as the E-synth didn't come with any), but it does have the AES-EBU expansion, the 128 voice expansion and the cables required for mounting a hard drive., as well as eight standard outputs (for all those E500 users wishing to upgrade). Looking around ?250 plus p + p.

The E6400 has been sold and is no longer available.
Thanks to all those who contacted me about it.
