hi there, im confused about the right way to deal with your internal SCSI internal drive of the emu, and External Zip.
please if some one can tell me the right way to do the following things, cose is not very clear on the manual...

1) If you want to format a new SCSI HD for your emu (low level format?...etc)

2) If you want to format a new Zip disk for using on your emu (i remember i damaged couple of zip?s formatting the wrong way)

3) Theres some way to check the status and potential damaged disk or bad space of the internal Scsi drive without deleting your music (kinda norton disk doctor)

any other emu HD care tips are welcome
thanks!!! :slayer:
Ax.

1 and 2) Disk/Browse, Utils, Highlight the drive you want to format, Format, then confirm.

3) Never heard of one, I don't think so. It's a proprietary format. You could put it in a PC, PC format it and scandisk it running a surface scan to get an idea about the physical condition of the disk. Then stick it back in the Emu and EOS format it using the steps outlined in my previous answer.

another thought, if you have an Ultra why mess with SCSI internally? With the price of drives nowadays you can just pickup a big, cheap IDE and rest easy...
