I can hear SCSI activity on submix 1, no sound from submix 2

Hi, when I first got my E-synth ultra off of ebay I noticed that during loading of samples or banks from a scsi hard disk I could hear wierd noises. This never bothered me until I recently started using EOSlink and I hear a constant tick-tick sound whenever its running. Does anyone know why this happens and if I can do something about it? Thanks
Also, I can't get any sound out of submix 2. I can route voices to submix 2 just like 3 or 1, but I get no sound coming out. Does this definitely mean that submix 2 is broken?
