Hi !

I bought an e6400 classic in mint condition 3 weeks ago. It has 128 MB RAM, but only 1 MB CPU flash ROM so the EOS 3.0 is the maximum possible to installed.

Last week I wanted to upgrade this Baby with an 4 GB internal SCSI hardisc. However the hdd was oviously defective. After switching the Sampler on it crackeld and fumed at the power plug of the hdd.

I immediately turned the Sampler off, but after thrown out that damned
harddisc the e6400 did not booted the OS. So I downloaded the EOS 2.8 from the E-MU homepage extracted on a floppy disc and tired it in the Sampler. The EOS has been written in the Flash memory well and I could boot it also, but always when the Sampler has been switched off overnight it shows me only crap in the display.....

Oviously the booting process is done well as the e6400 scanned the floppy drive and the SCSI bus and if you are used to work with EMU?s you know which buttons you must press anyway.

BUT the display shows only crap.....

After switching on and off 20 or 30 times the display works fine again, just as if the Sampler needs a specific working temperature....

Does any body have an idea what to do ?? :biglaugh:
