Odd amount of memory on an Emax II

Hi

I know I'm a little of subject since an Emax II is no way near Ultra status but I hope you'll cope with me anyway

I bought a stereo Emax II recently from Ebay. It works fine but what
I think is odd is that it only has 1 mb off ram (0524000). According
to Emulatorarchive a model 2212 (which is a stereo model) should have
at least 2 mb of memory and Emax II's with 1 mb are mono models. But
mine is a stereo with only 1 mb!!!!!

Is it possible that memory has been pulled out of the machine and that the Emax II will accept running on only half off the memory?

I've looked inside it and I think that the chips which are
labeled: "2p21014-07, k203a korea" are the memory chips, am I right?

The IC sockets: IC38 - 41 and 46 - 63 has the chips but the sockets
IC42 - 45 and IC64 - 99 are empty. Can I buy the chips somewhere and
install them in the empty sockets to increase the memory?

Best regards

Brian

Hi

I've been told that it might have been a failed attempt of upgrading a mono Emax II with 1 mb of memory to a stereo model with 2 mb.

It seems that someone have forgot to install a new memory adress PAL chip at IC26 that can see the 2 mb of memory.

Another odd thing is that everytime I turn on the Emax II it wants to be recalibrated. I calibrate it every time I turn it on and save it but on every bootup it asks the same recalibration question. Anyone have any ideas?

Best regards

I've solved my Emax II problem concerning lack of half the memory and that everytime I turned her on she wanted to be recalibrated

I downloaded OS 2.14 (I had 2.13) from yahoo and booted her with that. Now she doesn't ask for recalibration and now she can see 2 mb (aprox. 1048000).

Thank you very much.

Best regards
