trying to upgrade 1mb eprom (eos 3.0b) to 2mb eprom 4.7

Hi,
I've been running eos 3.0b for quite a while now (on an e4x emulator sampler) and i would like to upgrade to the latest version. However, as I understand it, I require a 2mb eprom to do the upgrade. Unfortunately, my e4x onyl has a 1mb flash rom installed. Has anybody successfully performed this upgrade before? I know that I need to 1. get a 2mb eprom and 2. install the latest eos on it.. But how do I go about doing that?
my understanding is the sampler will not boot it it does not have an eprom with an os installed in it. So how can I upgrade the os, without having to first boot the sampler using the current os. Ive heard 'hotswapping' can be an option.. but i dont know enough about hardware to do it myself, and dont want to destroy my sampler int he process. i really need to get this accomplished so i can start using recycle to send and map samples to the sampler. right now soundforge works fine. but i have to progam all the keyboard mapping manually.. and its very time consuming. if anybody has any insights, i would really appreciate the help.
thanks

ive checked the history int he forum and unfortunately there do not seem to be any sellers on ebay that are offering the 2mb rom anymore.. i was thinking i could order it from a manufacturer on the net. but i dont know exactly what type of rom (how many pins, size etc) to order.

There is this guy hanging on the forum selling 2mb-chips. Search the forum and see if you can find him?
