Hi Does anyone know why the digital and MIDI option card is not recognized by my 6400ultra runing under EOS 4.6?
I took the RFX and the MIDI option cards from my 4XT ultra, The RFX card is recognized by the 6400 ultra but not the MIDI and digital option card?
Any Idea?
I did reset the EEPROM but nothng changed

Thanks for your help

I think there's a controller chip that goes along with the digital/MIDI option card. Don't have that option myself, but I seem to recall some mention of it from another thread around here somewhere. Have a look around at the main boards of the two units and see of there's an empty socket on the e6400-U that has a chip in it on the E4XT-U (come to think of it, there are probably at least two... one for the controller chip and one for the extra 64 voices... hmm... you know what, I really don't know what I'm talking about here, proceed at your own risk.)

ok

If I get time to haul my e6400-Ultra out of the rack this week, I might have a dig around inside and see if I can figure out which chip is which... I think one is labeled "DWAM" or something (Digital/Word Clock/ASCII/MIDI... the four functions added by the card)

I'd be interested in that chip

Hi

Thanks for your help
If you are not using that chip I'd be interested in it because i need the the 32 MIDI chanels in the unit

Oh, I don't have the chip. I just know about it since I almost bought the MIDI/ASCII/digital kit last week on eBay (got scooped in the last 30 seconds... I hate when that happens). The kit consisted of the expansion card (with the ports) and a control chip. And I think there was a discussion on the board last summer about something similar.

thank you

Thank you anyway

I'll try to work with my 6400 ultra without the 128 voices and the 32 MIDI channels

Wish you interesting musical experiences
