Hi there I want to upgrade my E4XT to EOS4.61 but when I run the installation program downloaded from this site I get the following error:

DiskImager 1.1, Copyright (C) 1999 by Port Jackson Computing - SFX Image

Drive where to Restore Image: A:
Restoring Image 'EOS_V461.EXE'
Restoring A:, Head 0, Track 0, Sector #1-18Runtime error 100 at 0000:03E7.

I tried downloading again, and on 3 different machines and all give the same
error. I am running XP.

Are there any instructions for these files ?

Thanks

I had the same problem with version 3.00b. I couldn't make a disc under XP. When I used my Win98SE machine, it worked.

I think that's what it is.

you have to rn the exe on your pc.

the program will ask you toinsert a floppy, then it will installl the os on the floppy.

you also might need to install the flash prep

you cannot just drag the emu file to the floppy, you need to run the floppy creation EXE file on your pc

That's what I'd done too but it only worked under 98SE.

Try running the disk image executable from a "DOS" friendly folder like c:\temp, I think it struggles with long file and folder names.

You don't need a Windows 98 PC. Just download a Windows 98 boot floppy from here: http://freepctech.com/pc/002/files010.shtml and you should be able to do everything you need.

I would really appeciate it !!

If someone can do this I can make an image with this, its supposed
to work with XP:

Otherwise the files on this website are useless

I did the upgrade from 4.1 to 4.61 a week ago with no problems on XP.

There is a link here in the forums to the EMU supprt download centre where you can download the files... I downloaded them there

I put the file into C:\ as someone suggested and run the cmd..

Everything as described in this particular thread..just search for EOS upgrade or something like that.

Hope this helps

Thanks that did it!

I used the images from EMUs web site and it worked first time no problems.

That leads me to the conclusion there IS something wrong with the disc images on this site !!

Cheers

Im just trying to make a EOS470 install disk but it wont let me in Win XP

Ive put the EXE file into C: and tried to run it with the command prompt

i get this error message

The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose Close to terminate the application

But the sampler (E6400 Ultra - no RFX) already has EOS4.61, so am i really missing out on anything featured in 4.7?
