Im still unable to mount my external cd drive so the plan is to find another cable to try.. but there are so many different types of SCSI cable :???:

SCSI I Centronics 50 Male to Male

Is this one right? it looks it to me but i wanted a second opinion before buying it.
As im sure ive read people say its a HD50 on here?

btw my external cd drive has the exact same SCSI plug as the EMU

Yep thats the one.

I'd try and get an Adaptec or Belkin to be sure of the quality.

Thats a great help thanks

fingers crossed it is the cable which is the problem!

As the one ive got at the moment is a 25 pin smaller plug with adapters on either end, so im thinking that is the reason my drive wont mount

It could be, given the 25 pin connectors, that you are using a parallel printer cable which definitely won't work as the pins are wired differently.

I think you may also be able to buy directly from Adaptec.

Thanks for the advice

I bought a new cable which finally arrived today (damn post strikes)

Connected my cd drive and booted up the EMU...it mounted first time and works perfectly!
