SCSI / RECYCLE problem

So...I had my recycle/e6400 classic setup working and then i screwed up the powering sequence. So recycle didn't recognize my sampler...ever again. Basically it doesn't recognize that there is a SCSI sampler attached...even though WINDOWS does and SOUNDFORGE. I can send stuff to the sampler via SCSI using SOUNDFORGE...just not with REcycle.

Anyone have the slightest idea what I can do. It still sends stuff through SDS...but it takes forever and it doesn't place the samples.

Thanks.
Preslav

the only thing i could add is it may be a problem with your aspi layer
get the update and be sure to turn on your sampler BEFORE you turn on the computer
hope that helps

boot up your sampler first and let the whole thing load.

turn on your computer and load up recycle. then head to edit-->sampler settings.

hit add and pick your sampler from the drop down menu. now where it says scsi bus, drop it down and pick a diff one. I had three diff choices and the default one would not let me communicate with my sampler. I chose the third. now drop down the scsi id arrow and hopefully you will see your sampler on a id#, mine was on 6.

when i hit #6 the green check was next to verify the sampler is online.

hope that helps, i JUST did this before i got on this site cause i did the same thing you did and messed it all up.

btw, it seems the second and third scsi bus choices in my drop down menu worked for communicating with the emu. i dont know what the hell they are but hopefully you can get it sorted that way.

 good luck

Hi,

yep the ASPI could be the problem, but if it worked before then perhaps it ain't.....check all the cables are tightly attatched.....which operating system you using? Try turning on the Emu first then the PC, if it don't work then re-start the PC and goto seach for samplers....

there is a really good article at this address -

If you still have hassle post back

Thanks for all the replies...So I think it is the ASPI jawn that's the problem. I'm using an ADAPTEC card so when I tried running the SCSI explorer it tells me that it can't communicate with the ASPI. So that must be it. It's very strange why it stopped working all of a sudden. Soundforge still recognizes it and works fine with it.

So how do I update/reinstall these ASPI jawnz?

I had this problem before and the aspi definitely works wonders, anyway i aslo found that i had a dodgy version of sound forge (6) which fucked up my computer so I couldnt use scsi on many of my programs (including recycle!). as soon as i got rid of it and installed v5 it was sorted.

Dont know is anyone else has had this problem but it worked for me
