Hello,
I?m a brand new owner of used E6400.
Now I have the first problem with my sampler.

As it came to me the E6400 has an internal HD.

I can read all the files on the HD with the E6400.

Then I had connect the E6400 with my WIN XP PC by SCSI to work with SMIDI.

At the first start with the new connection Windows find the E6400 and the HD of the Sampler but can not read the files on the HD.
I think its o.k, the files are in EOS and Windows understand the format.

Later I try to read the samples on the E6400 but the EMU say the HD is not formatet. I can mount the HD with the EMU and he list it in the Disk Men?, but when I try to load some samples nothing work.

I?m sure that the HD is not formatet and the samples are on the HD but after WIN XP list the EMU HD there is something happen with the directory of the HD.

Now I can?t read the HD with the E6400 and nit with WIN XP.

Can I get back the Data of the EMU HD with a rescue software with help of my WIN XP PC?

Regards

Jan

Uf, it seems Windows tried to add some sort of signature to the drive to try to address it correctly, and now the EMU won't read it. Try to get someone else with an E6400 to read the drive. If that doesn't work, at least try to image the drive with Ghost or Linux and backup it up until a solution is found. This is one of the tests I will performing soon: how to do disaster recovery on the EMUs.
