e6400 playing up. Errors and a strange sample edit bug

I love my mu and use it lots. However, recently she has been playing up. The main thing that happens is a strange bug when in the sample edit functions, e.g. truncate, gain, compression. When i go into the edit window to select a portion of the sample to edit, the start point automatically starts to scrub to the right until it reaches the end point and is then stuck. I can't scroll it back either using the inc/dec, the data wheel or a midi controller. I've unplugged all external midi sources and it still happens. Even when i save the bank, then reboot the sampler, the problem continues. The fix is to create a new bank and then import the samples and presets into the new bank. This has happened a few times recently and last night i encountered a fatal error.

Is she OK???

As of yesterday, I have been having this same exact issue with my E5000. The only thing that has changed was that yesterday I created a new bank. When I load that bank and enter sample edit mode, the start point begins scrubbing forward until the end of the sample, and then cannot be changed. When I reload an older bank and enter sample edit mode, the problem stops. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has had this problem, but can someone else explain this issue? Is this a common EOS bug or a symptom of something going wrong with the hardware?

Does this error occur even if there is no cable plugged into the MIDI In of your EMU??

Probably a problem with your Pitch Wheel. The Pitch wheel acts as a sample "scrub' wheel in sample edit mode. Maybe calibrate your pitch wheel or disable it?

I did not try unplugging the MIDI IN cable while the problem was occuring, but I'll try that next time it happens.Though, I doubt that it has anything to do with my pitch wheel or other incoming MIDI data, as I use the same master controller on all of my other samplers and have never noticed any wonky pitch problems.

I've always worked from one single sound bank on the E5000's internal hard drive and the auto-scrubbing problem has never occured before until I created the new bank. Any sound I sampled into the machine would basically be locked up when I tried to edit any of the sample edit function screens. When I reloaded my original bank, the problem stopped. Then reloaded the new bank and the problem starts again. I have the master MIDI receive functions like program change, etc. set to off and my MPC's sequencer was not running at the time either.
