Power Supply Fans for e5000 Ultra

I'm looking at putting a new fan into my e5000 as the fan is pretty old and noisy now, and they don't last forever.

The exact model of fan (same brand and specs) is available on ebay but only as a bulk lot of 10.
If I buy them is anybody interested in a replacement fan for their sampler?
I'll keep a few, but would be able to sell about 6 or 7 to people at cost.

Can't say exactly what the cost will be until I know about the shipping, but the fans themselves are only about USD $2.50 each.

I don,t suppose it has to be the same fan, it just needs to be the same size and power requirement.
It would be better if anyone could recommend a near silent one that meets these requirements.
Any suggestions?

No, quite right, any fan that has the same physical size, air flow and current draw will be fine. The factory fan spec
indicates a noise level of 18db and air flow of 6.3 cubic feet per minute with 12v 45mA current draw.
This is not a noisy fan at all!

You will hard pressed to better those specs. I did find a 13db fan with compatible specs apart from the air flow,
which was 5.5 cubic feet per minute, so about 12% lower than the original fan. This would probably be ok given
that the fan is only for the power supply and it's inside a box to maximise the cooling. However I expect that
there's another fan in the same range or family as this one with higher airflow and perhaps one or two db higher
noise. There's also the Silenx brand that make a whole range of quiet fans, but I haven't looked into them.

There's a high quality Papst fan that is 18db with 5.9 cubic feet/min so that's pretty close, but no lower on the noise level.

The thing is that the original fans in the E-mus are all quite old now, and as they get older they get noisier, so a new
fan with the same specs should be quieter. That's my theory anyway, which will be put to the test with a CD Rom drive
that's getting a new fan soon.

Those original spec fans that I found in a bulk buy of 10 are gone now, and actually it would have cost people more for
me to do it from Australia due to the huge price rises of Australia Post (who have got their knickers in a twist over all
the packages coming into Australia that they have to deliver for free). Their response was to jack up our post prices to
almost double what they were a few months ago. Cheapest way to do it would have been from the UK - I can get a CD
from London for two pounds which is about $3.25, but for me to send a CD to London they're asking about $7.80 and
about $14 if you want it sent registered! Ouch...

Anyway I wont be doing any bulk buys of anything out of Australia unless the goods are already here.

This was recommended here before:
The best fan for the EMU is the PAPST Type 412 FM, only 16,5 dB(A)
It's german and about $15.

Papst (ebmpapst)

another option is

sku IXP-13-14
rated dba 14
dimensions 40x40x20mm
rpm 3000
cfm 6

Yeah Papst is good, I got a 612 NGML for another piece of gear I have - very smooth and quiet with MTBF 50,000 hours.

The Papst 412 FM that I found on ebay is 40 x 40 x 10mm and doesn't have high enough airflow, so I don't know if the seller has got the model number wrong or something.

We need a minimum of 10 cubic metres per hour (6 cubic feet per minute) and the same seller has another 412 with these specs but he doesn't say the model number and
the pictures are too small to read the label. I'll probably get this one.

I think it has to be a 20mm deep fan to get enough airflow with a 40mm fan but still have low noise and current draw.
