Pitch Bend stopped working on my E4K

Hi There,

I had opened up my E4k to try an encoder fix. When I put the E4k back together it seems that the screw that holds the plastic sides in place didn't fit into the chassis correctly. Anyway, the pitch would go wildly out of control while I was playing it. So I took it back apart and removed the floppy (the part where the screw did no go in correctly). The pitch bend started to work, but only pitch up, not pitch down. I messed with the Bourne blue round electronics component (don't know what its called) on the side. Then it went out and took the mod wheel with it, for good this time. Do I need another one of those blue things ? I tried loading the OS again to no avail.

Hi!

First try a recalibration of the two wheels!

It is a well known issue on a lot of e4k´s that you must recalibrate the two wheels very often!
(on a lot of e4k´s the eeprom become corrupted from time to time!so you need this recalibration)

I don´t know if your e4k has this problem, but try it first before doing anything else.

just my 2 cents

Christian

Hi Christian,

I did the recal and now I notice that there is no data being sent from the pitch bend or the mod wheel. 0 min 0 max. I tried an intEE. It didn't work. I was messing with the variable resistor (the blue round thing) for the pitch bend when it completely went out. I'm going to see if I can replace it. Any other suggestions?

You probably messed up the setting of the blue potentiometer on the wheel when you took it apart. Try to put it back the way it was using the deformed mark on the plastic shaft.
