loop mode is going crazy...

I've got an e4xt ultra. I recorded a sample and now I want to loop it. I go to edit sample, choose tools1 then loop. If I uncheck fixSize, the start number automatically starts incrementing. If I press the down arrow to go to end size, the start number stops incrementing...but I can't change the end or the size, if I move the jog wheel it just resets to the very end. I go back up to the start and it goes crazy incrementing.

I've got no idea what's going on. I've restarted the emu, I've recalibrated the jog wheel. The midi indicator light is off so it doesn't appear to be receiving random midi from anywhere.

Any ideas?? What's going on, and how do I fix it?

This is EOS 4.61

edit: here's a video demonstrating the weird behavior http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GURIPUvq3dI also in the vid it doesn't stop when I go to the end...instead it starts incrementing the ending sample number.

edit again: okay this is really weird...now the same thing is happening on the taper screen. The first thing I did was a taper, and it was fine, and then loop went crazy. So I deleted the sample, restarted the emu, took another sample. When I went to taper it, the same thing happened.

okay I figured it out (somewhat)

I was flipping through the manual and saw that there's a "scrub wheel" that moves through the sound when you use the pitch bend function on a midi controller. When I was playing the sample, I used the pitch bend...and for some reason I guess it was still going when I went into the taper & loop modes. Maybe it's a problem with my midi controller not resetting the pitch bend exactly to the middle? I'm not sure. I guess it's something along those lines, because the controller I was using (alesis fusion) caused the problem, but I'm able to stop the scrub wheel madness by using the pitch bend on my oxygen8.

I don't care about the scrub feature, but I do care about using the pitch bend wheel when I'm using my fusion to control the emu. Is there a way to disable the scrub thing on the emu?

okay! it was in fact my fusion's pitch bend being wonky. I found out how to calibrate it in http://www.promusicproducts.com/forum/p ... php?t=2604 and now I can use it to scrub samples if I want to, and it doesn't go crazy anymore (for now)

this had me really really really confused for a bit...hopefully anyone who runs into this sort of problem will come across this thread and find out that their pitch bend controller might be a bit off!
