why 4.7, what is the point.

Well. A lot of users (myself included) like the fact that the FAT file system is included in 4.7.
This makes things like naming / editing of samples, programs, banks etc. and sample transfering to and from your PC really REALLY easy if you have two or more removable drives (I use JAZ drives).
Other than that I don't know for sure what the differences are to be honest.
Someone mentioned realtime resonance control but I haven't tried it out yet.
