ARRGHHH!!!

So the other night I worked for like 6 hours on some sounds, saved 'em out to a bank. Went back this morning, browsed the drive, hit the load button... "Invalid File Type"

Anyone see this before? Any way to fix it? I can't believe I just lost all of that work......

That makes zero sense to me. If you had the files in the EMU and were processing them to begin with they should be "known" file types. The only thing I could think of was to try and change the file extension like you would on a PC, but I couldn't find a way to do it.

Not only can't I find a way to change the extension, but I can't even figure out how to copy it to another drive... is there a copy feature w/o loading something?? I can't believe this ... Spent three hours today re-working the sounds, almost there. Now, do I hit the Save button or not? How will I know if it works?

I've been looking around in the EMU and I don't see any copy function from the disk. I don't think you can even take the drive out and hook it up to your PC. And, you can't extract banks directly from the disk drive via SCSI. The only thing I can think of is "what types of files were you using?" If you were using Akai files that could be the problem. If that's the case, go into Master, then Setup, then Import, and make sure the Akai/Ensoniq conversion field is set to Full.

Nah, it was a few heavily tweaked sounds off of an E-Mu disc (Rob Papin Techno Const. Yard) and some other stuff I imported from a computer in WAV format. I think the HD has been on its way out anyway, probably the files got corrupted... I did a full backup to my backup drive and tried to load them from there, no love on that end either... Looks like that drive just became my primary because I'm about to throw the internal one out the window ... I wish it luck on the way down to the concrete :finger:
