Jaz drive errors !

I wonder if anyone can help ... I got a Jaz drive off eBay recently, which works fine on its own with my e6400 Ultra. I've just started setting up my studio properly, and connected my laptop to the Jax drive with an adaptec card, and the Jaz drive to the emu. I checked termination was off, but I get an error on the Emu when ever I boot up the PC.
It says 'FATAL ERROR. Gen Trap Error' and then a load of locations with 000000 after each one.
Anyone know what this is??
The Emu also works fine connected directly to the PC.
