Is this a 4.7 bug ?

Hiya,

Recently I upgraded my E6400Ultra to EOS 4.7 (since I wanted the FAT filesystem). In the mean time I also got me a new MIDI interface, Emagic AMT8. So unfortunately there are two variables (I can't move back to my previous MIDI ports, since I sold that soundcard). All works fine, except this: when I have Logic open and I'm editing samples stored in the Emu from the frontpanel and I want to audit the changes I made, I hit a key on my masterkeyboard (Yamaha CS1x), I hear no sound. I can only hear a sound when I select an other track in Logic (just one below it does it) and move back to the MIDI channel the Emu preset is on, only then I can hear my notes played. I checked the MIDI activity led at the front of the Emu, I see it light up but no sound.

When I'm in preset mode no problem, thi only occurs when I'm in sample edit mode.

Anyone has a sugestion ?

Ronald

Think I've come across this one.

My work arround was to flick the mod wheel when changing pages on the Emu.

There might be some tweaks in logic that could sort it?

I'm using exactly the same set up btw

Probably not a bug

After testing with my other MIDI interfaces (the ones on my Creamware cards) I was able to determine that this is problably (99% sure) an Emagic AMT issue.
I couldn't replicate the problem when using the CW midi ports, but after switching back to the AMT the problem was back.

Bummer, since I have to flip the mod/pitch wheel every time or sacrifice my Creamware instruments in favour of the E6400Ultra.

Still not sure which road to take, time will tell.
Maybe when I downgrade to EOS 4.61 the problem goes away, dunno.
I'll try this later.

cheers
Ronald

Eos reserved Midi Channel 1 for editing SamplingMode ( also for "Sprint ")
Keep Midi cha1 free in your Multimode Setup, it is not important with AMT8. The Workflow are not slower, since USB.

Hi MFPHouse,

I haven't thought about that, I'll return to my AMT MIDI ports and see what happens when working on the remaining MIDI tracks.

thanks

Had the same problems with Cubase 3.0(!) and an Atari Mega ST2. I just enabled in the Midi-Setup-Menue the NOTE OFF button, which means that real "note off" messages are sent by the sequencer and not only Velocity=0. I think I disabled the RUNNING STATUS, too. Don?t know if this works with Logic. Try out.
