I bought a used P1 in 1996 figuring we may p/u a keyboard player & let him use our JUNO2. Well...the p1's been in a rack unused & I'm trying to learn keys while still playing drums so I started usung the P1 for the grand piano sound. Well some years ago the user presets got erased.... but the ROM sounds are still there. Is there a sequence of buttons I could push or anything that will restore the user presets in the P1 back to the way it left the factory? Thank you

While simultaneously pressing the Master and Edit buttons, power on the unit. This brings up the Diagnostics menu. Cycle the data wheel around to "13 Initialize." Press the flashing enter button and confirm your choice. Then power up normally. NOTE: This procedure destroys any presets you've programmed yourself. Do not play with other Diagnostics menu items unless you know what you are doing.

Note: Early models of the Proteus did not have this re-initialize option and had to be sent back to the factory for a ROM upgrade.
