My son stepped on the open 2000 after I installed a new rom and I don't know what kind of connector they used ..... it goes in sideways you straighten it up and two metal clips snap it in to place... there a million connectors I was wonder ing if some one knew what and where I could get a replacement connector........ the rom is in socket 1 now and the machine works fine no damage to the rom.

Your posting is in the wrong category.
"About the board..." means about the Bulletin Board not about a mainboard of a Proteus 2000... (-> Everything Else)

The 72-way SIMM socket is available at http://www.rs-online.com
Manufacturer: Winslow AdaptICs
Model #: WS3172SMRRC (rightpolarised) or WS3172SMLRC (leftpolarised)
Search for the model numbers then you will find the SIMM sockets.
