How Could You

been working with emu x and found it to be amazing for me it was much better than the hardware

BUT AND A MIGHTY BIG ONE

i made my bank of breaks and samples first and chopped in recycle and converted to SF2 format great i was in business no problem was a very happy man was a long process making a kit but i was happy

ok next session am in for a quickie as ya do and am like ok need to make a bank quickly and easily

so i thinks to myself why dont i use the import sample options either import or acqire sample options i was thinking yeh great that should make me up and running nice and quickly no hassle

what i found was THERE IS NO SAMPLE PREVIEW

so i mail emu to kick up a fuss and they replied say you can preview your presets no problems i use it myself and have no problems

I WAS PISSED as i recieved the same mail 3 times as i had to explain this over and over again

so the reason i dont use EMU X at the moment is because there is no sample preview when you use ACQUIRE SAMPLE or FILE then IMPORT SAMPLE

my arguemnt was how can i easily listen to a preset as you do so well when i cant easily import any samples by just browsing for them

ACQUIRE SAMPLE = NO SAMPLE PREVIEW
IMPORT SAMPLE = NOSAMPLE PREVIEW

come on guy i mean the driver where wack to begin with and something like preview in a SAMPLER is unheard of FIX UP

as i love the emu sound and miss using my emu as am selling my hardware

haha yeah i have the same problem

It says sample audition but the box is grayed out... god knows how this bug wasnt noticed by the developers\testers etc :???:

Im sure it'll be the first thing to be fixed for any future releases.

The only other things which bug me are...

1. No mono outputs

2. Not being able to directly read EMU discs from the PC cd rom

thank god i saw this thread.

i wasted a couple of precious hours trawling the web for a fix/workaround/explanation yesterday and tried reinstalling it a couple of times too.

This has to be the most utterly shit thing about Emulator X2

a sampler that doesnt preview samples

that is completely shit on EMUs part - they couldnt be bothered to code up a custom dialog to preview sound files?

the preview button is available since version 2 i think, anyway as said before is very crappy and limited, not sure (meaning i never did scientifical test) but i believe it only reads 16bit 44khz files
and yeah its pretty shit for a sampler in 2008 not having a proper preview function
i think they didnt even fix this for version 3
what a strange company is emu

Ive heard using ASIO4ALL ASIO driver will fix this problem, havent tried it yet myself. Also not keen on switching from my current RME driver
