FlashRam ?? where to get them

Postby Grooveron » Wed May 11, 2005 11:17 pm

Hi I am a newbie here and have 2 6400 Ultra's and 1 5000 Ultra.
Using them daily with much pleasure.

i would like to get a 32 MB flashRam (or even morethen 1) to put my favorite samples on and put them in my Proteus 2000.

Where can I get those, and is it possible to overwrite ROM's (like the Protazoa) with an Ultra 6400 or Ultra 5000

using them's not too difficult, but you need a fully-functional ultra sampler with eos 4.6 or above. you make a bank that contains all the samples (no links or stuff that's on rom in y'r sampler- they have to be in the ram) & basic key-mapping & so forth. also, it has to be a bit smaller than the flash... I have three 32Mb sticks & sometimes the sampler won't write what it says is a 32Mb bank because it's a tiny bit too big.
there's an authoring guide from emu..... it explains how the ultra also creates "proteus" data in "baby flash" on the stick so that y'r proteus module can use the ultra presets as "instruments" in it's own presets. this is what I do.

if this german shop turns out to have the 16Mb sticks, & you buy some & then get stuck, let me know! I started on my flash-rom-ultra-proteus adventure 18 months ago & only in the last few weeks has it become 2nd nature to me.
