Hi guys,
I'm new to this board and I recently got hold of an E6400 Ultra. I wanna install a HDD and I'm not quite sure whether I should go for an internal IDE or an external (in my PC) SCSI drive...

Assuming I use the EOS filesystem (and not 4.7b FAT), how do I get my WAV (or Akai) samples from my PC onto my drive as my PC doesn't supposedly recognise the EOS filesystem?

If that's somehow possible, can I even access an internal IDE HDD from my PC using the SCSI connection, hence will the drive be visible?

you need some software... like an old version of recycle, it's not as simple just being able to access and read the formatting from both. I'd get an internal IDE for the sampler (they're cheap) and find an old version of recycle or a similar program that you can use to transfer your samples over to the E-mu...

It's worth the effort... go hardware!!!

All versions of Sound Forge, including the latest 8.0 support direct bidirectional sample transfer via SMDI -- I use it with my E4XT Ultra for transferring single samples. For bigger transfers I either use my external SCSI drive or just burn a CD.
