low level format hard disk

how do i go about low level formatting a disk for use in an e 6400 ultra i have a 20 gb seagate hard drive i need to format . does anybody know a good utility for this as the seagate program i downloaded off their website doesnt work

Are you sure you need to do this? I've always just hooked up the HD to the sampler, and let the sampler do an ordinary format. It's always worked fine.

yes i have hooked the hard drive up to the sampler and the sampler doesnt notice it

Your jumpers on the hard drive may not set up right. I believe they should indicate that it's a "master". :pimp:

Low level should always be a last resort to fix drives with lots of bad sectors only.
