E-mu ultra 5000 questions

Postby Kingkong » Mon Dec 19, 2005 5:27 pm

Hi,

A couple of newbie questions conserning e-mu ultra 5000 which is now availabe and I might grab it..

1. Can you put IDE hd in it?

2. It has no HD in it, so no sounds at all. Where to get sounds (CD's) and what sample formats it supports?

3. It has no manuals so are they available for downloading from E-mu (all).

4. It has digital add on card, Can you tell me more about it please.

5. It seems a little complicated but what's the best way to move samples from computer to emu ultra anc vice versa..?

Currently I'm using e-mulator X at home when recording, but I want a hw sampler to band use also, and I hate laptops / computers when trying to play guitar :)

1. Yes.

2. Emu Esi format, Akai S1000, Ensoniq.

3. http://www.emu.com/support/files/storage/EOS4-0.pdf and http://www.emu.com/support/files/storag ... Addend.pdf and http://www.emu.com/support/files/storag ... Addend.pdf

4. There are several digital add-on cards - which did you mean?

All of the above are really easy to find on the internet, and most of the information is on Emu's site.

Thanks!!

Downloading the manuals now.

It would be nice if emulator x sample cd's worked with hardware samplers also.

Looks like with a bit fiddling then you might be able to get something from Emu X into your hardware http://www.productionforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=5142
