A couple of days ago I came across an EMU E4k Hollywood Gold Edition. As I couldn?t find any information on this specific model on the E-MU website I contacted them. ?The Hollywood Gold was a special 'limited edition' of an E4XT. The specifications would be the same as an E4XT but it was supplied with the first 8 volumes of E-MU Sound Library on CD-ROM.? Technical support was unable to locate the spec sheet for the E4XT. Have searched the Internet for the specs but all I get are the specs for the E4XT Ultra. I reckon it are two different models just as the E4XT and the E4X Turbo are, right. During my search I came across information that E-MU has (had) an upgrade program where one can upgrade their sampler (E-64-00, E-Synth, E4X and E4XT) to E4 Ultra specs. Upgrading one?s E-4XT to an E-4XT Ultra would cost you USD 995. My question is should I buy the E4XT/Hollywood Gold Edition, an E4XT Ultra or simply forget about it? Get an Akai S6000 or a Z8 (new) instead. Upgrading a second-hand E4XT to an Ultra doesn?t make much economical sense to me providing the upgrade is still available.
Would appreciate your opinion.

Bob
