I blame Dillusion_Man's sig.

My E6400U arrives sometime this week - What's the first thing I should do with it? I want some Z-plane action within minutes of it arriving, but, have a feeling I'll be spending a long time just figuring out how to get samples on to the thing...

It has a 3GB drive already but haven't got any SCSI drives yet and have no idea how to link it to a computer through scuzzy, guess I'd better buy some floppy discs..

It still hasn't sunk in that I now own one of those sexy black boxes that used to adorn music mag covers when I was lil'. Nobody else has a clue what I'm talking about so figured I'd register here and share my excitement hehe :P

So anyway - hello everyone!

Yeah, I am actually considering doing my mix down completely in the Emu instead of multitracking into Cubase. If Cubase doesnt' sound good to me, then that is probably what I will do.

Congrats on the purchase. You wont be able to go back to software if that is what you where using before.

Ok I got it now, been messing with some "exotic winds" sounds that were already on it. I'm happy except there seems to be some issues with the buttons, the "prev" doesn't ever respond, and sometimes other buttons act like I pressed them twice, selecting things I didn't want to select. Still, useable as long as there's nothing I need the Prev button for? (Using the wheel instead for most things)

Wanted to put a couple samples on it via floppy, but found my EOS doesn't do that. So was trying to update to 4.xx but found 3.00b is the highest I can go; I only have 1MB of CPU RAM and Flash RAM. Can't find anywhere that sells either in UK

Now gonna go try recording/trimming sounds the old fashioned way, until I get one of those Adaptec SCSI cards (which I'll prolly find doesn't work with < 4.xx ;)

Nice to know it's not just mine then.

Recording sounds into this thing was a piece of cake, auto truncates, loops, maps... just hit play on the sample on the computer and in one emu button press its ready to play. I'm enjoying it a lot more now!
