emusonacid! legacy

I seem to have this problem quite consistantly of the emu freezing when i try to get my adaptec card to communicate with the emu via scsi.
Sending over samples itself isnt a problem, its just immediately after the emu's interface seems to 'lock up' and no matter what buttons i press on the emu the screen remains frozen. The only way to wake it up when its like this is to use the EOS link connection, but obviously this isnt ideal.
