Loading a Bank via Midi

Postby tek_uk » Mon Dec 18, 2006 11:40 pm

Hi All,
sorry if it has been asked before (did a quick search but didn't find it)
How can I load a bank from my sequencer?
Basically, rather than browsing the HD each time I load a song, I'd like a midi command to load the bank used in the song.

Many thanks in advance

You can use the "magic load preset", as detailed on page 123 of the EOS4.0 manual...

Basically, under Master>MIDI Preferences 2>, you'll find a setting for the "magic load preset". You pick a number (of a preset you DON'T have in the bank currently loaded), and then when you send the sampler a preset change command with that number, the next preset change command you send will load that bank number (rather than the preset number) in the current folder. Be sure to send the two program changes as seperate events (so, not two of many commands on the same MIDI event).

I've never actually tried this myself... I just assume it works as described in the manual.
