Voice Routing problem

Postby mtthwwllm » Wed Apr 16, 2003 11:37 pm

the way i route my presets and voices are by going into the Preset Edit Amp/Filt section and panning all the way to the left to get a mono output to go to one channel on my mixer. im sure many of you do this too. but ive been having problems lately where i route stuff to different outputs (eg a kick drum out of submix 1 , left . and a snare out of submix 1 , right) and for some reason i still hear the snare when i pull the fader down on my mixer, it isnt getting routed properly for some reason. and i checked to make sure everything was set right in the EMU. can anybody give me any help here? maybe im doing something wrong? has anyone ever seen or had this problem before?

also sometimes if i have two presets that are on different midi channels and different outputs. one sound will cancel the other sound out when being playing through logic. wtf?

i just figured out why the snare was coming out of output 1. cuz i had chorus on it. so i guess chorus only works in stereo. damn

ok, so the Chorus Stereo With has to be at 100% for it to be in mono.
go figure. thats the only thing that i dont like about emu, is that they are not mono friendly

actually you can convert to mono. were it actually runs through only.. hee hee i have an idea.. one channel. this might help you. you need to go into utilities i beleive in the master settings bit. you should find, i may have to look now, i can't rememeber really were it is at, an option that allows you to change the conversion settings. i can imagine that typically you have the sampler convert you stereo to mono were it plays through both channels. you can actually chose what channel you want, left or right. so you can actually convert stereo to left channel only, or you can convert it down to right channel only, or both. i have mine as both
i actually don't do what you do. i mix everything internally on that bad boy.

sampleandhold, i couldnt find that option in the Utilities section, or any other section. if you can look into it more and point me in the right direction that would be great. thanks

i am kind of embarrassed. that thing i mentioned is actually in the setup menu in the master section, and it does nothing what so ever. has more to do with akia convertions. sorry.
but you do know that you can sample, or resample stuff to the left or right. i would at least think that should have it go through one speaker. unless of course the emu is stupid. then you can get back at it by just sampling your drums with just one channel plugged in.
