FIR filters

Postby jura » Fri Feb 08, 2008 2:32 pm

hello i was wondering if anybody of you guys uses the offline FIR filters. They seem pretty powerfull, especially for layering stuff. i think i already covered all the other stuff in the emu except those filters and i'm feeling a bit stupid not using such a powerfull tool...

Well.. yea.. i have used it.. mostly for cutting off low and high freq. to clean up the sound a bit.

I guess there is others here that have more experiences with this offline feature

I use the FIR all the time. I use it to create breaks, such as taking kicks from different sources, filtering different parts out and then layering. I also FIR every single sample to make sure they are all going the same direction. After all, layering a break is no different then mixing down a choon.
