RFX-32 Active Cooling

Postby TSR » Thu May 22, 2008 6:56 am

I realised the steelplate that holds the RFX-32 card gets VERY, VERY hot
after some time of usage. It's by far the hottest part in my 4XT.

So, has anyone installed a cooler on that plate yet?

With this in mind, I don't wonder at all, why alot of people have worries
with their power supplies, if an RFX card is installed. Mine is from '99 (by
the first four digits of the serial number) so it's probably the weak one
(appr. 40 Watts supply), but everything works fine.

For the sake of material protection I'm now planning to carry out some
extensive cooling, especially of the RFX. But at first, I'll replace that
noisy fan in the power supply with an SilenX model.

How about yours?
