ROM sound share

Postby IpreferHardware » Sun Jul 06, 2008 5:09 pm

Hey everyone, you may already know about this but I managed to load all of the waveforms from the E-synth rom into RAM as multisamples in individual presets by doing a bank load in the disk browser. I just entered the ROM disk and loaded the E4R program in there.

Does anyone know if this is possible with the other sound ROMs, and if so would you be interested in uploading these banks on the site that ehasting set up? I find that getting/replacing multisamples is a great way to quickly create new patches from scratch, and if we had similar banks from the other ROM chips it would be great.

I am ordering a 2.5" IDE drive for my e-synth ultra, and once I upgrade to 4.7 and format FAT32 I should be able to post the E-synth rom bank.

Let me know if you're interested

yup definitely interested in this.
My E4XT came with the presets loaded on but no actual sounds, as they would be in the ROM I don't have. So I don't know i they'd be any use.

Sweet, once I install my IDE drive and get 4.7 up and running I will let you know ehasting.

(Thanks to all the emu power users on this forum for all of your upgrade advice! :slayer: )

Has anyone else out there with a sound ROM gotten the bank load to work as well?

I saved several P2000 roms to disk. But you should know that the
Proteus2000 roms are not 100% compatible with the E4 Samplers
in the sense of programs. It's possible to use the samples, but you'll
have to carry out programming for yourself, since it will always
assign the sounds to a "standard-program" - if I remember correctly.

It's interesting to note, that some said to be 32MB roms will only
show up as 16 MB roms. That was the case either with the
Vintage-Pro-Rom or the PX7-Drum-Rom, I don't know exactly.
The XL7-, Halo- and Pro2000- were loaded to full extension,
i.e. the total 32MBs.
