I'm seeing many sound ROMs up on ebay lately and was wondering which ones would work inside my E-synth Ultra... Most claim to be compatible with the proteus 2000 series of modules- would those work? Just wanted to confirm before parting with hard earned cash

The only E-MU ROMs comptatible with the Ultra line of samplers are:

6870 - ESynth 16MB Sound ROM

6871 - Orbit/Phatt Sessions 16MB Sound ROM

And of course, Flash ROMs.

Other E-MU ROMs will work in a sense, but there will be no presets associated with the E-MU Ultra voice architecture for each sound, so pretty useless.
