Silent internal 9GB SCSI hard drive for E4k

Just in case anyone out there hasn't heard of this site, scsiforsamplers, they are selling an internal SCSI hard drive, 9GB, called an NDISK, and it fits the E4k without any modifications and is totally silent! Absolutely amazing - pure bliss to power up the E4K and not hear any noise. It was pretty easy to fit as well, and I hadn't ever done anything like that before. They are an American site and it only cost me £41 including postage. I didn't get charged anything by Customs either - it just arrived through the post in a small box. I can thoroughly recommend them.

The salesman, JD, was superb too - I already had an external hard drive which was like being sat next to a Boeing 747 on take off, and that was stuck to SCSI ID 1 even though I didn't realise it at the time and so I ended up with a lot of SCSI problems. I didn't realise that you needed the EMU E4k to be on a different SCSI ID to its own internal hard drive either - I thought you could set the SCSI ID of the internal hard drive via software and you can't, as you have to physically change it with a bit of plastic called a jumper (supplied with the NDISK). JD talked me through the whole thing over e-mail and I must have had about 10 e-mails from him over a couple of days until he was happy that I was sorted. Totally recommend them to all EMU users.

I thought I would post this just in case anyone else is having trouble with their internal hard disk.

Cheers,

David
