just came across this IDE ATA bracket-mountable SD card reader in eBay:

So here's the idea: With 16GB DC cards lower than $50 these days, on can think of replacing the hard drive with this reader and an SD card. Now, the beauty of this type of reader is that you can bolt them into of the back panel expansion ports (well, you would most probably have to make two new holes in the reader's bracket). So that everytime you want, you just take the card from the back, plug it into the PC, and make a backup copy of it (you would need OS 4.7 to format the card using FAT).
My question is: Do you think the SD card's read and write times would be good enough to completely boot and operate the sampler from the SD card? Let me know what you think!
