Envelope filter in E4 possible?

Postby razo » Sat Aug 21, 2010 10:57 am

Is there a way to extract also the amplitude of the input audio signal when using Live Samples (with RFX32), so that one can make a kind of envelope filter? Would be cool to do this using all 21 eos filter types.

I'm not a RFX-user but you need an external Envelope Follower for this that generates MIDI-CC messages.
You need two devices:
1. Envelope Follower that analyses the incoming audio signal and generates Control Voltages (CV) out of it.
2. A CV-2-MIDI converter that converts the Control Voltages into MIDI-CC messages.

This messages have to be assigned in the CORD-window to the filter.

Will be interesting to see if midi CC's are fast and accurate enough to do it. And also if the midi notes on the other midiport will become 'sluggish'.
