ESI 32 upgrading OS

Postby stuntmaster » Sun Aug 29, 2010 1:25 am

Hello.

I have stumbled across an EMu ESI 32 for a mere £5. it's backlight is shot (although repairable) but display still readable. its on basic with no turbo card, scsi port etc etc. booted it up and managed to get it to record a sample and play it back as well as play a sample off one of the sample floppies. i't seems ok.

One question, whats the highest EOS I can load onto this? and would it be the same as following the guide in this forum? It's currently on V2.1

I'd dearly like to give it a little TLC and make it worth my while. then perhaps get another EMU.

Thanks for any help much appreciated.

The OS is only upgradable by replacing a chip on the mainboard.
I think I read somewhere in the past that the latest OS is 3.01 or 3.02 for the ESI-32.
The OS-chips are not available anymore so that you have to live with the current version of the OS.

Ahh ok that makes sense. just i wasn't sure if you could just pop a floppy in an upgrade it? since i've seen some ESI's on v3 software.... Still thanks for that, much appreciated.
