yo, i need to get meself a scsi card!

50 pin style rite?

is it hard to find a good one? as on ebay they can b quite cheap where as at the computer store they are alot more...

it is to work with a P4 and win98se ...

any recommendations???

Get a 50 pin Adaptec card. It worked for me. I can't remember the model right now but I think that most of their 50 pin cards are similar. Can anyone confirm that?

True,

Adaptec is the way to go, & you know that what you are buying is of the highest quality and pc drivers are easy to aquire.

I use an Adaptec 2904 pci scsi card & have no complaints what so ever.

Using your emu without scsi for sample transfer to pc is like using an 1mb Akia sampler!... you can't do sh**t with it :mrgreen:

adeptec 2904 for me an' all. Think this is the one people recommend.

got the 2904 too, though youll need a db25->50 pin cable. i had a little trouble tracking one down but ended up finding one on ebay.

i think i am going to pick one up at comp usa. they have them there. that model actualy. but kind of spendy. about 100 dollars. if i remember right. have to see how my monies are.

funny how all the old out of date stuff is so expensive.

compusa is by far the most expensive place to get computer stuff, don't go there, ever!!!

got my adaptec at compusa too. it was $60 and i wanted it that day or i prolly would have ebayed it.

I've got a 2904 card but I only use it with a zip drive, WinMe and Translator to burn backups of zips to CD Rom. I've never hooked the emu directly to it.

On the old emusaic mailing list I can clealry remember several people successfully using 2904 with their emus however I can't remember if they were E5000's or not (I wouldn't think it would make any difference). The other thing to consider is that it would have been before the days of XP and OSXs.

In the thread below it looked like Casoolt was getting a 2904 from SCSI Bob. I wonder if there was any success there?

if you search in the forum you'll find the 2904 is "confirmed" to work with the ultras, but i was asking about the 2904 CD (wich i found second hand for 10?)

anyway, i've bouhgt it... the CD won't change much, i hope!

during next week the seller will deliver it and i'll report any troubles

If admin have the time then I think it would be good to have an sticky on this site showing the details of successful SCSI setups. What computer and OS, scsi card or adapter, eos version etc.
