emu ultra output configuration question

Postby duggabax » Fri Aug 26, 2011 7:36 am

Is it possible, on the e6400 ultra with rfx32, to configure the output so that instead of 4 stereo outs, it acts as 8 mono outs? I only ever use mono samples...this would be like doubling my sampler for me.

Hi!

You can program each Voice and/or Group in a Preset with different Panorama.
So you can use a Stereo Output as two Mono Outputs.

Example:
Preset with different Drums:
Voice 1: Bassdrum and Snare with PAN: -64 (under EDIT; AMPLIFIER)
Voice 2: Percussions with PAN:+63 (under EDIT;AMPLIFIER)

Go to Multimode and use this Preset on Channel 1. Set SUBMIX for example to SUB 1.
If you connect this SUB 1 with two MONO Inputs of your Mixer/Mixing Desk, you will have Bassdrum and Snare on one Mono channel and the Percussions on the other Mono Channel....

Puh, not easy to explain for a none "english"

I used to do that with my Classic and it worked fine...but now that I'm on Ultra and I don't route voices to outputs, but busses, and then busses to outputs, what I'd like ideally is to have Main Left be outputting Bus 1, Main Right Bus 2, Sub 1 Left Bus 3, Sub 1 Right Bus 4, etc.

From what I've heard it doesn't seem like it is possible...which kind of flabbergasts me...did Emu think that everyone only uses stereo samples all the time?

I´m an idiot!

Sorry, hasn´t read your first post carefully!

You are using an Ultra with RFX......

But I will have a look on my Ultra with RFX, if there is any way to do something like "mono routing"

On the other hand, I think that NO synths or sampler with internal stereo effects have the possibility to route two different mono effect on one stereo bus, as you want it.

just my 10 Euros, eeeh 2 cents!
