Hello all!

Just joined the forum!

Now, the sitch: I've found my old e64 sampler. It has suffered water damage, been kept in sheds and lofts, not deliberately neglected I might add - just a victim of circumstance. I have just had the contents of my old house delivered after being in a storage container for 4 years and what should I find? A Yamaha W7, Roland Juno 106, and my e64. Christmas early! Incredibly enough they all work! I've just powered up the sampler so the capacitors can get used to being juiced again and intend to sort it out. First of all I will need to increase the RAM, then upgrade the os (currently Version 1.1) and then try to get around the SCSI (can internal HDs be fitted?) issue.

Unfortunately I have no idea what I'm doing. I shall be looking through the site to find advice etc to help me on my way. I've already been through the OS upgrade thread - not sure if it applies to upgrades from 1.1, however.

So that's it. I'm not going to be able to invest the time I would like because of other commitments, kids, etc but hopefully this will be fun and who knows, my daughters might become the next Orbital!

In the meantime, though, if anybody has any thoughts, hints, or tips before I start then that would be great.

RAM and other bits and bobs are super cheap(compared to back in the day) nowadays on ebay.
great to see so many people dusting down their old beasts again.

I shall have a look on there later. My current issue is that I no longer have a PC with SCSI or a 3.5 inch disk drive. Just found a scsi to parallel adapter though....
