I assume its cos I need the 2mb Flash rom....

Does anyone know where to get one?
I might just have to get an Ultra and sell the E4XT if its too complicated; I just need to transfer samples over SCSI from my PC.

There's a guy on ebay selling Esythn sound rom upgrades for $50 a shot.

The most important part of the kit is that it contains the now utterly unavailable 2mb Flash RAM board. He dosn't know that or advertise it, but I bought one off him and bounced around with joy..

I spent weeks trying to hunt the flash upgrade down as you need 4.x to use the ADAT board in a non-ultra.

I think saw that and saw it was for the e4k ... thought it might not be compatible, .... so didnt buy it... looks like they've run out of time.

Hope he puts them up for sale again!

No, it's not the E4K EOS upgrade kit. that WON'T work.

On the otherhand the E-Synth Sound ROM kit like this one (Which is the one I bought)contains the required Flash upgrade.

try contacting the seller and see if he has any left. he had many up for auction several times, and hardly any sold...
