Not shure how to do this, but maybe someone here does.

I want to be able to make a main bank on my E5000 Ultra, one that has all of my samples. Now that I have this, I want to be able to make multisetups for each track I make so that certain samples are on certain channels.

Example: For one track I may have an Amen on channel 1 but in another track I may have a Reece sample on channel 1 and the Amen on channel 5.

Now at the moment, I have to re-save all of the samples abd a new bank, which eats up Zip disk room fast.

Basically, Is there any way to keep one bank of samples and have it mapped out in Multimode to different channels for each track I do?

Damn, I know what you're saying but I think the only way you can do it is to write/type down each 'preset number' that you used on a piece of paper....i think you may need to write the channel you want it on as well. Then save your bank as a copy (say in slot b14). Then Empty the bank. Disk/Browse to your new bank (b14) and choose to browse for presets. Use the number pad to dial each preset number you had written down and load the preset. Get all channels as they were before. And then save the bank over the copy you made(ie. b14!)

Easy But really, I think that's the only way. I've probably made it sound a lot more complicated than what it actually is

Can't you just use the export function in the preset manager?

multisetups are your friend

first create a bank that includes all the samples/presets you're gonna use in your tracks. then arrange them as you need them for your first track. save it as a multisetup. create a new multisetup and organise your samples/channels/mix levels for you next track. now save this as a new multisetup. keep going until all your tracks are complete and all your sounds, FX and multisetups are contained within one bank. Save this to disk.

in a Live situation you no longer need to load a new bank between tracks; just scroll to the next multisetup and it loads instantly from RAM!

Multisetups have always seemed to be a mystery to me. You have opened my eyes a bit as to how multisetups can be used. When you mean "save it as a multisetup" do you mean "MSetup->Utils->Export"? Would this not export it as a bank? Or do you mean create/write it to RAM/Flash? And when you say "scroll to the next multisetup" do you mean manually or with a CC message? My knowledge of multisetups is just a bit shady so maybe you can set me straight.

yeah, just save the Multisetup to RAM, then save the entire bank to HD. If you save the Bank to HD without saving the multisetup to RAM first, i don't think it'll get saved. if you export it you're writing it directly to HD as a new bank.

when you hit the 'Multisetup' menu button it'll take you to screen where you can either save your current one, rename or erase it, or scroll through your list and select another one. being able to select one through midi would be awesome, but i'm not sure that's possible.
