I've got (and a lot of other people too) an Adaptec 2906. It works fine. I think the hard part is if you want to transfer many sounds at once to PC. I think you have to do it one at a time.

yeah i use the 2906 as well. works fine - should be able to pick it up cheap of ebay.

With ZoeOS you can bulk transfer samples, as well as create Preset and Sample Packages...

Wavesurgeon can also do batch transfers. ZoeOS is great, though.
