logic pro 7 sampler Vs Emu Ultra

Postby Breaktime » Tue Nov 16, 2004 11:16 pm

Bought logic seven recently for sequencing. I've started messing about with the sampler and either I've missed something or I'm right in saying the sampler within Logic doesn't compare to my humble Emu! I have found that I've got far more control in the Emu then in the Logic Sampler!

any views?

Yeah...for years i stuck to my hw and never played with those soft sampler...also get to discover that thing in L7..huh...no..they don't know what a sampler is...no keycrossfade... not totally sure but i think the mod matrix is for the entire keyboard also...anyway..without keycross i'm not touching the thing..still would liked to produce a bit more entirely in Logic...looking at Halion...not sure there is keycross there also...think maybe Mach5 would do it...

anybody care to compare those soft sampler vs the ultra more deeply..eg control seems more deep in some of them...

yes

i used halion/battery/SOME kontakt for over 4 years.

Why do you think i bought an Emu. ...For sound quality, filters and at least for me usability, i see urine flying from a great height if you get me! 8-)

Quality just doesn't compare. I've always found soft samplers sound very cold, they lack that extra bit of depth. They do have there advantages... quick preview & load, saving banks with session, mindless drum mapping. But the hands on control & sound really pays off.
