SCSI Cable: e6400 to PC

Postby masochist » Mon Jan 17, 2005 12:15 pm

Hi there,

Just recently I got my hands on a 2nd hand e6400 Ultra and a Adaptec 2906 PCI SCSI card, the only thing I've left out is the cable to attach the two together. I've located a cable specialist in Australia (www.cables.com.au) but I am not sure what to look for. I know that I need a 25 pin connector on the Adaptec end and a really big connector (scsi 3?) on the E-mu end, but what are the technical names for what I need so I know what to ask/look for? Thanks for your time guys

You need a SCSI I - to - SCSI II cable

the big chunky end on the ultra is SCSI I

The Ultra end is a Centronics 50 pin male adapter. Not sure what the 2906 end is though although it sounds like my zip which is a db25 male adapter.

Check ebay for some cheap ones.
