E4XT Ultra: which EOS?

Postby Komyx » Sat Feb 26, 2005 10:48 pm

Hi,
I'm a new member here and recently I've bought an E4XT Ultra.

I'm undecided about installing EOS 4.61 or 4.7... this second offers more advantages for me, but I've seen that it could have some bugs.

Here, anyone use EOS 4.7 in his sampler?
What is your suggestion?

Greetings from Italy. ;)

Welcome to the forum. In terms of the advantages/bugs of v4.61 vs v4.7 it depends on what you would like to do. If you have RFX installed then v4.7 has at least one (compressor) if not more plugins than v4.61 which I've heard is quite usefull. Version 4.7 has real time resonance control (not dependent on note on events). I guess I could go on and on... I am still on v4.61 due to the RFX bugs. I have the RFX 8 analog out expansion and I get some crazy noise coming out of some of the outputs using 4.7 vs 4.61 while others do not. I think it depends on what setup you have and what you'd like to do. It's all about making music and whatever works best for you is the way that you should go. I'd suggest moving to 4.7 and if you don't notice any problems then you are all set. But if you do move to 4.7 and down the road you find a bunch of bugs the move back to 4.61, which is far more stable, is tough if you are using 4.7 specific features. You may be one of the lucky ones where 4.7 works great for you. Good luck.
