I am desperately trying to get my E5000 to 'see' my Maxtor D740X-6L 20GB 7200rpm HD to no avail.
This is what I have done:
I took a floppy drive and HD power connector off my old 300W PSU and reversed everything at the floppy connector end. I then matched up the IDE 1's and attached them to the board and HD and then attached the new power connector I had customised. I have tried the Cable Select and Master settings, different connectors (middle or end) on the IDE cable and still it won't see my drive. It was formatted FAT32 on my PC prior to my attempt to install it into my E-mu E5000.
Does anyone have the full instructions for doing this WITHOUT the EMU-6303 HD Mounting Kit? I haven't blown my board so I must be doing something right.
My new acquisition is sat here collecting dust while E-mu UK
wind me up more each day (back orders). Please help!!
