Hi there. I've joined a new band and we are having trouble syncing a few bits of gear up. Please bear with me because the problem can be solved by use of a midi thru box however it would be nice to know what is causing this problem.
The midi chain that goes like this
rm1x - e6400 Ultra - Korg Triton with rm1x being the master.
The idea is that the rm1x plays notes on the e6400 which then in turn transmits MTC to the Triton so that arpeggios can be played in sync.
The rm1x Midi Out goes into the e6400 then the e6400 Midi Out (not Thru) goes to the Triton. The reason is because so that the rm1x sequence data doesn't play anything on the Triton. Providing there is no sequnce data in the e6400 sequencer then nothing except clock data should reach the Triton.
Our problem was this, when every tempo setting within the e6400 is set to external (sequencer, multisetup etc) the Triton plays at twice the speed it should do. If I take the midi straight from the rm1x to the Triton then it plays at the normal speed. Something is causing the emu to transmit the clock at double speed.
We are having a tech day tomorrow to try and resolve the problem however if anybody can give us a head start then I would be most grateful. Unfortunately we will not be able to get hold of a midi thru box for quite a few weeks.
Thanks in advance
Andrew
